Sponsored box break: 2012 Press Pass Legends Hall of Fame Edition

I am so lazy at posting.  It is disgusting.  I recently did a sponsored box break for 2012 Press Pass Legends Hall of Fame Edition, courtesy of Atlanta Sports Cards.  Here is a link for the video break.  But, why watch a poorly filmed and awkward video box break when you can just view the awesome high-quality photos I am about to post below?  I will mostly let the cards speak for themselves.

Here is the tin in which the cards came packaged.  It is actually a very large box to hold a small pack of four cards.

Willie Brown!  Hall of Fame cornerback for the Denver Broncos and Oakland Raiders, #'d 74/99.  All the cards are shiny refractors.  This is the second Willie Brown autograph card I've pulled, and both are going to be listed on Ebay soon.

Dick LeBeau, #'d 43/65.  A great defensive player for the Detroit Lions and defensive mastermind, currently with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Leroy Kelly, Hall of Fame running back for the Cleveland Browns, #'d to 75.  I greatly enjoy watching the new Browns star running back, rookie Trent Richardson.

Now here's a gem!  "Big Game" James Worthy, Champions inscription autograph, #'d 3/3.  Check out that insane refractor action.  Worthy is the only worthy "Big Game James" in my book.  Go Lakers!

Los Angeles does have one team in the playoffs...

The Los Angeles Galaxy already clinched a spot in the Major League Soccer playoffs, that is.  Game 7 of the NLCS is tonight.  If our rivals, the SF Giants, win then they will be playing against the Detroit Tigers in the World Series.  Sigh, Dodgers.  Well, at least there's the Galaxy to root for (they did win the MLS Cup last year, in fact), and some sweet card pick-ups to dull the pain!

2011 Upper Deck World of Sports, Landon Donovan autograph.  I like that Donovan wrote "#10."

Landon Donovan is probably the most well-known currently active US soccer player, though Clint Dempsey is definitely making his name in the English Premier League.

Orel Hershiser

On this date, 24 years ago, the Dodgers won their most recent World Series title against the Oakland A's.  Orel Hershiser had a hell of a season that year.  He won the Cy Young and World Series MVP awards, among several other accolades.  It took me a while to acquire an Orel Hershiser autograph card, but I think this one was well worth the wait.

Two favorites from recent group breaks

These cards are from two different Daily Dimwit group breaks.  The volume of photos I've been taking of new additions to my collection has decreased, mostly because my camera (a Samsung Galaxy S3) is not the most effective thing to use for these purposes and the lighting in my room is unfavorable.  But, on to the cards!

2005 Topps Pristine, Jimmy Key game worn uniform relic.  This is from Sam's September group break.  Not #'d.

This one is awesome.  2008 Upper Deck SPX, Jim Thome Winning Materials patch, #'d 52/99.  It is definitely one of the best-looking patch swatches I own.  From July break.

Tiger Woods!

At least he didn't lose outright in the Ryder Cup, eh?  I, however, won because Upper Deck mailed me my redeemed Tiger Woods autograph card (from my previous post) pretty quickly!

Here he is.  Very nice!  And what do you know, the image depicts the Ryder Cup.

Think the Dodgers will make the wild card?  What a bollocks year.

I was bored last week and stopped by Hall of Fame Baseball Cards in Arcadia to buy stuff.  I purchased some supplies and a box of 2012 Upper Deck Goodwin Champions.  The shop is located at 319 E. Foothill Blvd., Arcadia, CA 91006, and they are having a Davey Lopes signing tomorrow (Saturday, 9/15) starting at 10 AM.  Let me know if you plan on going, though I have not decided if I will attend yet.  Now, on to the hobby box, which is definitely one of my best box breaks this year...

Abby Wambach mini-yellow printing plate, one of one!  Sweet.  I believe this is my very first miniature printing plate.

Holy shitballs.  Zoom in for full effect.  Tiger Woods autograph card!  Or rather, a redemption for a Tiger Woods auto!  I better get this card, or there is hell to pay.  Tiger is a "Group A" signature, so he is seeded as 1:1977 packs.  Metal.

Do you think Davey Lopes would be cool with writing "Party Hard" as an inscription for me?  Kevin Kouzmanoff did...
